White vs Red – Versions of the Same Grape: Wine Tasting (26th Feb)

Can the same grape variety really make both white and red wine? Absolutely – and this tasting proves it!
This evening is all about exploring grapes that exist in two forms: a white version and a red version from the same grape family. For example – Merlot Noir (the classic red Merlot we all know) and Merlot Blanc, a rare white mutation of the very same grape. We’ll be looking at similar pairings where closely related grapes produce completely different styles.
You’ll taste carefully chosen wines side-by-side to see how colour, flavour, texture and structure change – even when the grapes share the same origins. We’ll also explore how winemaking choices and regional styles influence the final result, and why two “versions” of one grape can taste worlds apart.
To make this theme extra special, we’ll be including some premium bottles alongside our core line-up, giving you the chance to taste exceptional examples of each style.
A brilliant tasting for anyone who loves understanding the “why” behind what’s in the glass - without any wine snobbery!
