OTHER – Balido Orange – Cerro Chapeu, Uruguay
Delicate, natural and beautifully textured.
Balido Orange is a light, elegant skin-contact wine from the remote Cerro Chapeu estate in northern Uruguay. The name “Balido” means bleating in Spanish – a nod to the sheep that roam freely through the vineyards while the vines are dormant, reflecting the estate’s deep respect for nature and traditional farming.
Made from 90% Trebbiano and 10% Petit Manseng, this wine gains its gentle amber colour and subtle structure from extended skin contact. Trebbiano is macerated together with Petit Manseng skins for 90 days, adding texture, aromatics and natural clarification before being bottled unfiltered with minimal handling.
Expect delicate aromas of apricot, honeysuckle and fresh herbs, leading to a light, mineral-driven palate with gentle texture and refreshing balance.
In the glass:
Softly aromatic and elegant with subtle stone fruit, herbal notes and a clean, mineral finish.
Perfect with:
Grilled vegetables, white fish, charcuterie, soft cheeses or lightly spiced dishes.
