The Grape Escape at pour. š·šæ
From Friday the 29th of May through to Sunday, weāre turning pour. into a full-blown garden wine bar.
Think sunshine, great pours, cold craft beer, grazing plates, spinning wine wheels and the kind of weekend where you pop in for ājust oneā and somehow leave four hours later.
Weāve been quietly planning this one for weeks and honestly⦠weāre ridiculously excited about it.
What To Expect
š· 25 Wines By The Glass
Rebecca has selected some absolute bangers for the weekend ā from easy-drinking favourites to some properly exciting wines available by the glass.
Weāll be pouring everything from crisp sunny whites and chillable reds to orange wines, skin contact weirdness and bottles youād rarely get the chance to try by the glass.
Whether you know exactly what you like or just want to point at something and hope for the best, weāve got you covered.
š” The āCanāt Decide?ā Wine Wheel
Honestly one of our favourite ideas.
Our wines on the Grape Escape wine list features somewhere on the wheel ā meaning your next drink could be decided entirely by fate.
You might land on:
-
your new favourite wine
-
something weird and wonderful
-
a seriously great pour
-
or maybe even a little prizeā¦
Best approached with curiosity, ready to be pleasantly surprised!
šŖ£ The Bougie Bucket
If youāre feeling a little bit fancy⦠weāve got you.
Throughout the weekend weāll have a āBougie Bucketā chilling away in the garden featuring a few of Rebeccaās top wine picks of the weekend.
Very limited.
Very special.
Very much the āgo on thenā¦ā wines.
šŗ Our Brilliant Beers
While The Grape Escape is very wine-led, weāre also going BIG on beer this weekend.
Alongside 8 rotating craft lines, our fridges will be absolutely packed with:
-
craft beer from around the UK
-
European favourites
-
some very fun imported stuff
-
and even beer from Japan
And donāt panic⦠we are NOT taking off Deya Steady Rolling Man. Thatās staying put. The other 7 lines though? Expect plenty of rotation across the weekend.
Weāll even have a chilled cider on draught for you too.
Whatever your tipple is, weāve probably got it:Ā sours,Ā helles,Ā pilsner,Ā stout,Ā amber ales,Ā hazy pales,Ā juicy IPAs
ā¦just make sure you try them before the kegs and cans disappear.
Basically⦠if you like beer, youāre still very safe here.
š» Loads Of Non-Alcoholic Options Too
Weāve also expanded our alcohol-free options for the weekend.
Expect:
-
heaps of non-alcoholic craft beers
-
non-alcoholic wine by the glass
-
loads of funky soft drinks and festival-friendly alternatives
Nobodyās getting stuck with sad lime & soda energy here.
š§ Cheese & Charcuterie Grazing Plates
Weāll be serving festival-style grazing plates designed for drinking in the garden.
Expect:
-
3 cured meats
-
3 gorgeous cheeses
-
and a selection of accompaniments for grazing alongside great wine and beer
Weāll also have crisps, snacks and nuts available throughout the weekend as usual ā because sometimes all you need is a cold drink and a really good bag of crisps.
šø Ruddy Fine Gin French 75 Special
This one deserves its own moment.
Weāll be serving a French 75 made with locally made Ruddy Fine Gin, topped with delicious sparkling wine.
Fresh, citrusy, dangerously drinkable and absolutely made for sunny festival afternoons.
Locally made gin served topped delicious bubbles⦠whatās not to like?
š BRAND NEW Baked Buns Flavour
A brand new @bakedbuns flavour will also be landing for the weekend.
FAQs
When is The Grape Escape?
The Grape Escape runs from Friday 29th May to Sunday 31st.
The wine bar opens from midday each day.
Weāll still be serving coffee from 9am as normal each morning.
How will ordering work this weekend?
Weāre simplifying things a little for Ruddfest weekend so we can keep service moving as smoothly as possible.
šŗ Beer from the taps, our usual by-the-glass wines, soft drinks and fridge beers will still be available from the main indoor bar as normal.
š· Our dedicated outdoor wine bar in the garden will be where youāll find:
-
all 25 festival wines by the glass
-
£2 (and a few £3) wine samples
-
the wine wheel
-
French 75s
-
grazing plates
Simply choose your wine, choose your size and pay by card at the garden bar.
Will you be running table tabs?
Not this weekend.
To help us keep up with demand, the entire venue will be operating pay-as-you-go throughout Ruddfest weekend.
We're hoping this will make things much faster for everyone.
Do I need to book?
Nope.
From Friday onwards weāll be switching off bookings entirely and running fully first come, first served for tables.
We expect things to get busy and this gives our team the best chance of keeping the great wine and beer flowing smoothly all weekend.
Thursday bookings will still operate as normal.
Is the garden bar card only?
Yes ā our outdoor wine bar and charcuterie station will both be card only.
Are children welcome?
Absolutely ā supervised children are very welcome until 6:30pm.
We just kindly ask that children are closely supervised throughout the weekend as we expect things to get very busy.
What about pushchairs, bikes & scooters?
To help us safely manage the space throughout the weekend, we kindly ask:
-
pushchairs are folded down where possible from midday onwards
-
bikes and scooters are not brought into the venue
This is mainly so we can keep walkways and fire exits clear during busy periods.
Thank you for understanding.
Will coffee & hot drinks still be available all weekend?
We hope so āļøš
BUT⦠as the day goes on and things get busier serving great wine and beer, we may temporarily shut down the coffee machine so the team can fully focus on keeping up with grape demand.
Weāll always try and keep coffee flowing for as long as possible ā but please forgive us if the wine bar energy eventually takes over.
Will you still be doing beer & wine flights?
Not in the usual way.
We wonāt be running our normal beer and wine flight boards/glassware this weekend as weāre keeping things a little simpler to help service flow.
BUTā¦
š· We will be offering 50ml wine samples for just Ā£2 (or Ā£3 for the Bougie Bucket), so you can still explore loads of new wines without completely ruining yourself by 4pm (please drink responsibly!)
šŗ And of course you can still order beer in 1/3 pours ā they just wonāt be served on our usual flight paddles.
What if I donāt know much about wine?
Perfect. Honestly, thatās half the point.
Weāll have loads of approachable, accessible wines on the list alongside some funkier and more adventurous pours if you fancy trying something new.
And if wine still isnāt your thing after all that⦠our cold craft beer lines might be more your energy anyway šŗ
No judgement here.
We honestly canāt wait to share this weekend with you all.
See you at The Grape Escape š
